WHAT IS TERROIR ?

In every Vineyard, a unique combination of climate, topography, and soil type shapes the character of the vines that grow there and the grapes that they yield. The choices man makes for the cultivation, and for the subsequent transformation of the grapes into wine, reflect aspects of this distinct place. The French word terroir, literally means ' soil', is used to describe the entire environment in which the vine grows.
